Listed below are the biographies of the firm’s professionals.


G. Bradley Ball, Managing Partner & Chief Executive Officer

Brad Ball is a founding partner of Perimeter and a member of the firm’s management committee. As Perimeter’s Chief Executive Officer, he brings institutional executive management experience from Trusco Capital and Great-West Life & Annuity, where he began his career in 1985. At Trusco, Brad was Executive Vice President leading the firm’s sales, marketing and client service efforts, in addition, to being on the firm’s executive committee. Brad has also served on the Advisory Board of the Institutional Investor Institute, been an advisory board member to mutual fund companies and also served as a board member of the Provider Advisory Committee of the Profit Sharing/401(k) Council of America. Brad earned his B.A. degree from Oklahoma State University (1985).


Mark D. Garfinkel, CFA, Managing Partner & Chief Investment Officer

Mark Garfinkel is a founding partner of Perimeter and a member of the management committee. Mark brings investment experience to the management of client portfolios since 1987. His previous experience includes managing $2.5 billion in small growth assets for Trusco Capital Management. Mark was selected to design and lead the firm’s small cap growth discipline and served in this role for seven (7) years. Prior to this position, he was a portfolio manager for the firm's large cap core growth discipline. Mark began his investment career as a research analyst in the bank’s Trust & Investment division in Nashville and later co-managed a bank common trust fund. Mark is a member of the Atlanta Society of Financial Analysts, also currently serving on the Board of Trustees, and received his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1993. He earned his B.A. (1986) and M.B.A. (1987) from Vanderbilt University.


James N. Behre, Managing Partner & Director of Investment Research

Jim Behre is a founding partner of Perimeter and also a member of the firm’s management committee. Jim serves as the firm’s Director of Small Cap Growth Equity Research to which he brings investment experience, specializing in analyzing small cap companies since 1986. Jim and Mark previously worked together for ten (10) years at Trusco Capital. Jim was originally employed by Chemical Bank (now J.P. Morgan Chase) as an analyst on their small cap mutual fund. Jim earned a B.A. from Barry University (1984) and an M.B.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson University (1991). He is also a member of the Atlanta Society of Financial Analysts.


Christopher J. Paolella, Managing Partner, Director of Marketing & Consultant Relations

Chris Paolella is a founding partner of Perimeter and a member of the management committee. As Perimeter’s Director of Marketing and Consultant Relations, Chris brings institutional sales, marketing and management experience since 1985 from Trusco Capital Management and Great-West Life & Annuity. At Trusco, Chris was a Managing Director in charge of consultant relations and institutional sales, which included Public Funds and Taft Hartley Plans. Chris earned his B.A. from the University of Richmond (1985).


Theresa N. Benson, Partner, Director of Third-Party Distribution & Client Relations

Teri Benson is a founding partner of Perimeter Capital. As Perimeter’s Director of Third-Party Distribution and Client Relations, Teri brings institutional sales, marketing and client service experience from Trusco Capital Management and ICC Capital Management where she began her career in 1993. At Trusco, she served as Director of Third-Party Distribution, where she developed mutual fund and sub-advisory partnerships with leading financial intermediaries. Teri earned her B.A. (1993) and M.B.A. (2001) from the University of Central Florida.


Adam C. Stewart, CFA, Partner, Director of Trading & Chief Compliance Officer

Adam Stewart is a founding partner of Perimeter Capital. As Perimeter’s Small Cap Growth Trader and Director of Equity Trading, he brings investment experience since 1997 from Trusco Capital Management and Franklin Templeton. At Trusco, Adam served as Head of Equity Trading along with managing equity trading operations. Adam is a member of the Atlanta Society of Financial Analysts, received his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2001 and earned his B.A. (1997) from Auburn University.


Patrick W. Kirksey, CFA, Partner, Senior Research Analyst

Patrick Kirksey is a founding partner and senior small cap growth analyst. Prior to joining in Mark and Jim in 2004, Patrick previously worked as an analyst on the large cap core equity discipline for Trusco Capital, where he began his career in 2000. While on the team, Patrick specialized in covering names in the Energy, Tech-Hardware and Consumer Staples sectors. He earned a B.S.B.A. from the University of Nebraska (1991) and an M.B.A. in Finance from Georgia State University (1993). Patrick received his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2009.


Anthony R. Raab, Partner, Research Analyst

Anthony Raab joined Perimeter’s investment management team in 2007. As a partner, Anthony serves as Research Analyst on Perimeter’s Small Cap Growth strategy. He previously served as an equity analyst covering various sectors while at Trust Company of the West (TCW), where he began his investment career in 2003. Anthony earned a B.A. (2003) from Duke University and is a Level III CFA Candidate.


Brian M. Crawford, CFA, Research Analyst

Brian Crawford joined Perimeter in 2008 as a Research Analyst on the Small Cap Growth investment team. Brian offers investment experience ranging from small cap growth company research for William Blair & Company where he began in 1992 to private equity due diligence while a partner at Adams Street Partners. Brian received his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1995 and earned his B.S. (1992) from Georgia Institute of Technology and his M.B.A. (1997) from Harvard University.


P. Greg Deese, CPA, Controller

Greg Deese joined Perimeter Capital Partners in 2006. Greg brings over twenty-three (23) years of financial accounting experience from GMT Capital and The Hume Group. At GMT Capital, Mr. Deese served as the Controller and managed the firm’s operations, including oversight of prime brokerage relationships and securities lending, risk management, accounting, tax and financial activities for four separate hedge funds with combined assets of over $2.0 billion. Mr. Deese earned his B.B.A. (1984) from University of West Georgia and earned his CPA designation in 2000.


Steven C. Budde Jr., Marketing Manager

Steve Budde is a founding member of Perimeter Capital. Steve brings over five (5) years of investment experience from Trusco Capital Management and The Bank of New York. At Trusco, he served as a Marketing Specialist joining Brad Ball and Chris Paolella in 2005. As the firm's Marketing Manager, Steve is responsible for providing consultant updates, managing the firm's profile in leading industry databases as well as preparing Perimeter's request for proposal responses. Steve earned his B.S. in Finance (2002) from The University of New Orleans.
